The Firs was full of green-themed fun as residents and staff came together to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
Our dining room looked wonderfully festive, decorated with green streamers, four-leaf clovers and balloons, creating a bright and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. There was plenty of laughter as some of the team got into the spirit with a St Patrick’s Day face cut-out prop, complete with a leprechaun top hat and shamrock outfit, bringing a light-hearted moment to the day.
A real highlight was the traditional Irish lunch, freshly prepared by our cook Nic. The menu board for the day set the scene perfectly: roast gammon and parsley sauce with Colcannon mash and carrots, followed by spiced apple cake and custard. Residents enjoyed sitting together, chatting over lunch and taking in the atmosphere.
To complete the celebration, we played Irish music via Alexa, adding a lively soundtrack that helped everyone relax, join in, and enjoy a change of pace. Days like these are a lovely way to support wellbeing at The Firs, encouraging social time, shared experiences, and simple enjoyment.
